Domenico Dolce is sitting in the exact spot—the end seat of a long gray sofa in the extravagant barocco salon in Milan—where he made his ill-chosen remarks about “synthetic” children and gay parenthood to an Italian journalist in March that rocketed him and Stefano Gabbana to the position of fashion’s most-hated figures of 2015.
